Our intention is to create a series of broadcast quality educational DVD’s. The series will be made available for home purchase and viewing as well as television and university distribution. The content will be interactive, which will assist in allowing a more in depth access to treatment options.
Series Topics will include:
Acupuncture Homeopathy Chiropractic/ Animal Spinal Manipulation Veterinary Botanicals Nutrition -Raw Food diet Nutri-ceuticals Vaccination Rehabilitation and Physical Therapies Euthansia and the Animal Loss Experience Other Energy Medicine Modalities
Each of the series will follow a similar template, initially providing an overview concerning the history of the science of each modality, and specifically its history within the United States. Experts in each field will be interviewed and filmed in an informal, documentary locale; preferably their own environment/practice. This will aid in giving the viewer a good understanding of the passion and efficacy of each modality. Interviews with animal caretakers and overviews of actual cases will serve to give the audience/viewer a chance to witness the success of this form of medicine.
There will be no misrepresentation. All doctors and practitioners involved will be privy to the final edit, thus insuring that their information and message is accurately presented. Each video will try to cover the controversial aspects of each modality to give the viewer a true understanding of the pros and cons of this modality or the conventional route that is usually accepted. Some of the suggested points on each issue would be:
1. Why were you looking for something other than your conventional training?
2. Why were you attracted to this modality vs. other approaches?
3. The paradigm for this modality is quite different than for conventional veterinary medicine. How has that affected your understanding of disease and its treatment?
4. What are the common problems for which this modality has been healing or helpful?
5. What are the common conventional recommendations?
6. What are the common pitfalls?
7. What is the success and fail rate?
8. How does one integrate the modalities?
9. What is involved with education and training of the profession to become proficient acupuncturist
10. Think of a specific case or two that really made you decide that you alternative modalities works. If you have a chance to get the details or a picture of the animal from your old records bring them to you interview
11. To give an opportunity to possible ask questions on raw diet, vaccination, relations with conventional colleagues and hopes for the future of veterinary medicine.
We hope to get all different aspects of alternative veterinary medicine involved with this project to help underwrite the cost and help us get grants to bring the awareness to the public.
